We have different kinds of friends. We have our sports friends, our intellectual friends, our shop-til-u-drop friends, our fair weather friends, and our forever loyal friends.
Here at ECHO we have different kinds of friends as well. We have our adrenaline junkies, who want screaming whitewater. We have our power loungers, who enjoy our luxurious camping more than the floating. We have our groups of friends, who find our trips excellent excuses to get together and enjoy each others' company. On the Middle Fork we have our fly fishers who think the rapids are just in the way of their fishing, and we have our Tuolumne fans who actually prefer the swimming holes over the Class IV rapids.
Still others are most excited about our special trips. They like having the music, the natural history, the wine, and the like-minded people also attracted to such trips.
Our 24 years of running river trips has taught us that people change over time, too. Some who used to love the white-knuckle stuff now like more mild excitement. Many of these are now opting for the "Kids Trips" with their own families. Others, who started on the South Fork are now leaning toward the longer trips, with the greater solitude and wilderness.
The following pages describe each of our rivers, and this year's special trips. We hope you find what you are looking for. If you have questions please call. We love to talk about our trips, and we have supplemental written descriptions of each we can send you.
