1927 TravelAir 4000
Have you dreamed of flying? Have you ever been on an airliner and looked though the tiny windows and wondered if there were more to it than that? Do you want to know what it feels like to have the wind roar past your face, and to look all around and see the whole world and sky?

You can.

Wings Over Paradise flies antique open-cockpit biplanes from the Watsonville Airport seven days a week. Accommodations for two passengers plus the pilot are available in our TravelAir, so bring your best friend, spouse-- even your mom! The ride is gentle and the view is breathtaking.

For the more adventurous, aerobatic rides, including loops, rolls and spins are available.

Tour Selection

  1. Hop around the Patch

A "hop around" in pilots jargon is a quick flight around the field to get the feel of a new airplane. Thus, we offer one to you to give you a taste of open cockpit flying. $30 for one, $40 for two. (8 - 9 minutes.)

  2. The Beachflight

A fifteen minute jaunt to Seacliff Beach's famed cement ship, or down to Moss Landing and Pajaro Dunes. $55 for one, $70 for two.

  3. Santa Cruz Tour

Our most popular tour takes you up to the City of Santa Cruz, over the wharf, downtown and the University. One half hour of pure sightseeing pleasure. $95 for one, $125 for two.

  4. The Barnstormer

Are stunts your thing? Here's your chance to experience aerobatics in our 1942 Stearman biplane. Experience the loop, the barrel roll, the hammerhead and the tailspin up close and personal. This is also your chance to try your hand at flying, even if you have never done it before. $110, single only. (25 minutes)

  5. Davenport Tour

Following the route of the Santa Cruz tour, we continue north along the scenic and nearly deserted coastline to the town of Davenport. Breathtaking views of the north coast are afforded in this 45 minute flight. $140 for one, $185 for two.

  6. Point Lobos Tour

One hour of the most spectacular scenery you will see. Leaving from Watsonville, we turn south towards Monterey. Below you will be the famous spots on the Bay: Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, Cypress Point, The Monterey Bay aquarium, Pebble Beach. But the trip just begins there. We round the point and cruise down the Carmel beaches to Point Lobos beneath towering mountains falling to the great Pacific Ocean. Whales are often seen on this trip during the winter, so keep a sharp eye out! $180 for one, $240 for two.

  7. Whale Watcher

After flying the Point Lobos route, go out to sea and look for whales! During the winter, sightings of dozens of migrating California Grey Whales are common from the biplanes. The airplanes mobility and relative quiet allows an unprecedented view of these animals without disturbing them. Best times of the year are Mid-March through mid December. $225 for one, $300 for two. (1 hour, fifteen minutes.)

1942 Stearman N2S-3 Kaydet

Famous as the "yellow peril" (named for the bright yellow color they wore as trainers) the Stearman is a solid, reliable airplane meant to survive the shocks of training inexperienced pilots. Our Stearman is equipped with a 220hp Continental radial engine and has full controls in both cockpits so that you can try your hand at flying.

1927 TravelAir 4000

The TravelAir Manufacturing Company was founded by Walter Beech, Clyde Cessna and Lloyd Stearman long before they went on to individual fame as aircraft manufacturers. The TravelAir 4000 was one of the most sought after aircraft of the 20's and 30's because of its rugged construction and large payload. Our TravelAir has 220hp Continental engine, and seats two passengers, in addition to the pilot. So bring a friend!
