Global Hypocenter Data Base CD-ROM
Forty earthquake catalogs are include on the Global Hypocenter Data Base CD-ROM.
The combined catalogs span a time period from 2100 BC through 1990. Each earthquake entry contains detailed information (if available) on date, origin time (UTC), location, depth, magnitude estimates, intensity, cultural effects (damage/casualties), and other related information.
The retrieval software, EPIC, is written for IBM-conpatible microcomputers and is provided on floppy diskette. The software package permits the usr to retrieve and display data from the CD-ROM. A User's Guide that describes the data base and the software is included with the CD-ROM.
EPIC and the Global Hypocenter Data Base CD-ROM bring historical earthquake data, retrieval software, and a mapping package together into one system that can be accessed through the use of a personal computer.
