Computer Graphics Unit : Index of Movies

The Computer Graphics Unit has made several MPEG movies publicly available. Most of the following movies were generated with the help of summer students working at the CGU.

This animation shows a cup deforming. The movies was generated using NURBS hyper-surfaces (163 K).

This MPEG was generated as part of a climate data-set, rendered using AVS. (446 K)

This movie shows a rotating volume set, depicting a human head. Rendered by direct volume ray-casting, using a package called RTV, developed by the CGU and the Advanced Visualisation lab at the University of Sao Paolo, Brazil. (216 K)

This animation shows the output from one of the extended demos from AVS 5.01 which reads a Protein molecule in the Biograf data format. (1.7 M)

The project aims were to simulate the mycelial growth of fungal spores in a submerged liquid culture. The fungal spores grow larger over a defined time period. The sequences show the changes which occur over a defined time period (214 K and 52 K).

Both of these movies depict simple flythroughs of a model of the Caribbean, rendered using AVS (1.6 M and 430 K respectively).

This animation shows a flyby of the Maxwell mountains on Venus, again rendered using AVS and modules generated by the CGU. (1.1 M)
