"I see you don't recognize me. I'm the emergency holographic doctor, and you are in Sickbay of the U.S.S. Voyager. You've been unconscious since the Voyager went to search for the Maquis ship and... well... my program was not activated until after the incident.

"When your memory returns perhaps you can enlighten me as to what happened.

"In the meantime, it is my duty to see that you get back on your feet as soon as possible. This PADD - or personal access display device - contains information about the U.S.S. Voyager.

"Go through it to familiarize yourself with the crew, the ship, and our mission.

"Once you're comfortable with the information in the PADD, come back for a follow-up evaluation. Assuming you're up to speed, the Captain will personally reinstate you for active duty.

"Now, if you'll excuse me... there are others who need my attention."

To activate your PADD:

If your PADD has access to the ship's high-speed data communications ports, you'll want to use the full graphics mode. Otherwise, you may use the text-only mode. Either way, you'll learn what you need to resume your duties here onboard Voyager.
