Qualifications for Membership

Membership is open to all women and men who:

• are at least 40 years old.
• have had a annual earnings exceeding $40,000.
• are engaged in a full time job search in managerial, executive, or professional fields.
• are committed to finding appropriate employment as quickly as possible.

Membership obligations consist of participating in and supporting FORTY PLUS activities by attending Monday morning meetings and giving eight hours of service each week on an assigned committee such as communications, finance, marketing, training and development, member resources or computer resources.

Our membership fee and monthly dues are a fraction of the cost of for-profit job search organizations. All revenues go to support FORTY PLUS facilities and activities.

An Invitation to visit Forty Plus

We invite you to join us at our main office in Oakland for coffee and donuts at 8:00 a.m. on Mondays, when we present a free orientation to FORTY PLUS. At that time, you may also attend the regular membership meeting, tour the facilities, hear our weekly guest speaker and have a chance to meet some of our members. The San Jose office hosts orientation meetings each Wednesday at 10 am. Please plan to spend the morning with us -- normal business attire is appropriate.

The main office is located ate the north end of the Oakland Airport:

From I-880, exit on Hegenberger Rd from the North or 98th Avenue from the South,
Proceed west to Doolittle Drive and turn right (north); turn left on Langley (left turn lane)
Turn right on Northrup; then left on Fairchild.
Turn right on Lockheed; 7440 is one block on the right

To reach the south Bay office in San Jose:

Heading south on I-880, exit on N. First Street, left under freeway to Burton St. (immediately after crossing under 880), turn left; immediate left into first driveway to enter parking lot in rear of building.

From northbound I-880, exit on N. First Street, at bottom of offramp proceed straight across First Street and turn left into first driveway to enter parking lot in rear of building.
