Activities of Interfinance

Activity and Business Philosophy

Interfinance Limited is a private corporation, established in 1988, with operational offices at The Hague in The Netherlands, and a number of independent, representative offices in other EC countries. It is active as a prime financial intermediary and broker.

Its activity is multifaceted. Basically, in a financing transaction, the Interfinance experts represent their client before the investment, lending, or leasing community that will fund the transaction. On occasions they may give an undertaking, or actually contract themselves, to make sure that the deal closes; but, as is most often the case, they simply give their undertaking to do their best to make sure the deal closes.

The pure intermediary stance is often the most beneficial. After all, even one aspect promoted by the investment banking firms is to obtain the best deal available to the client in the market place. This becomes particularly important when the offering isn't underwritten, but is conducted on a best efforts basis. Whilst the large investment banks have the capacity to invest their own capital, it is indeed a limited pool of funds, and, as such, would almost certainly not be the cheapest source of either debt or equity.

It should be pointed out that investment banks aren't "bankers" in the traditional sense either. While some of the large Wall Street organizations lent temporarily to clients during the late 1980's LBO binge (and some lived to regret it) investment banks don't usually lend money. These LBO "loans" were in fact "bridge" loans designed to bridge the period between the purchase of a company and the point at which long term financing in the so-called junk" bond market was issued. Unfortunately this didn't always happen. This practice is eschewed by Interfinance Limited.

Because Interfinance Limited takes the true intermediary stance and acts solely in that capacity, and does not issue or trade securities, it can piece together most effectively for clients, transactions involving international acquisitions, mergers, etc. It has assisted numerous clients with international business acquisitions, and is continually expanding its sphere of activity.

Interfinance Limited adheres to a policy of being active only in those segments of the market involving the raising of finance as intermediaries, and international business mergers and acquisitions, both as advisers and intermediaries. This stance assures a greater viability and concentration of efforts, to the benefit of clients.
