Cookware offers advanced networking services for companies and individuals wishing to have a presence on the World Wide Web.
What are the differences between interactive and non-interactive documents?
The Web offers two basic flavors of documents. The first is a non-interactive document. Non-interactive documents may contain text, pictures, audio and links to other documents, systems, gophers and ftp's.
Interactive documents offer everything that non-interactive documents have, and add to it the ability to have total interaction with the user. There is an infinite number of things you can do with interactive documents. The following list just some of the possibilities:
- On-line credit card order taking allows you to provide products and services 24-hours a day. Credit card numbers can be taken over the Internet and checksumed electronically, all by the computer. Orders can be compiled for you to get at your leisure, or can be e-mailed to you.
- Knowledge bases. Searchable image and text databases with product or informational content. Users may interact with the database in any number of ways.
- Mailers and Remailers. These allow people to send comments or other text to anyone of YOUR choosing. Users simply type comments into a text window within mosaic, and push a single button to have the message automatically transported to your location. Not only is many to one mailing possible, but also one to many, many to many and anonymous remailing.
- Interactive browsers. Net news, email, database, Gophers, and others can all be accommodated with interactive browsing. Interactive browsing allows users to find information world-wide by simple keywords or phrases.
- Kiosks. WWW Kiosk servers allow WWW terminals to be placed in any business, storefront, library or mall. Kiosk servers can come in several flavors, including touch screens. These provide product interaction to the general public.
- Private Areas. Password and username capability exists within Mosaic. Using this technology documents may be created that may only be accessed by certain people. By integrating this with credit card verification, log-on-able accounts may be provided to 'members' for access to special areas and special features.
- Interactive games and learning documents. Because of the interactive nature of the net, many games and other social diversions are possible.
- Animation and Games. With Server Push and Client Pull we can create pages which automatically update by themselves. This allows you to create animations, games and even have sound automatically start playing when a page appears.

What about a client list?
Depending on the server and services you choose, it is possible to have a list of ALL PERSONS who enter your 'shop' and read your documents. This list can be compiled daily, weekly or monthly, and can be used to e-mail future advertising as well as gauge frequency of revisits, slow/fast times, and what portions of your service are most popular.
