"The Las Vegas New Times is an alternative newsweekly published every Thursday for the last two years or so. We're alternative not in the black beret, grunge rock, knee-jerk leftist kind of way. We are alternative in the sense that we are an alternative to the two daily newspapers in town, which aren't bad papers really, but just boring and lacking in flair. Also, because we're a weekly, we can get into issues more, rather than just writing about events. We also use cuss words, which is the easiest way to tell that we're alternative.

Here in Virtual Vegas, you can look at our entertainment calendar, which is by far the biggest in town. You can also see City Beat, which is a bunch of Vegas news blips spiced with smart ass comments.

What you're not getting here in Cyberspace is our cover stories, movie reviews, food reviews, rock news, arts news, theater reviews, cartoon strips and Last Words, a weekly humorous commentary. We'll probably add more stuff as we get our cyberfeet wet in the cyberocean."
