The University of Iowa Libraries
The University Libraries system includes the Main Library, housing collections in
the humanities and the social sciences, and eleven departmental or branch libraries:
Art, Biology, Business, Chemistry/Botany, Engineering, Geology, Hardin Library for the
Health Sciences, Music, Physics, and Psychology.
The College of Law contains a full service Law Library containing 514,000 volumes
in the Boyd Law Building, telephone number 335-9002.
Each departmental or branch library houses the following to support its own field of study:
books, journals, circulation and reserve services, reference collections, and the
electronic catalog called OASIS. Departmental library materials are not, for the most
part, duplicated in the Main Library's collections.
