Welcome to Conformal Geometry project home page
University of Joensuu
Conformal geometry project studies computability problems of Riemann
surfaces as a part of CAM
laboratory, which is joint project of University of Helsinki, University
of Joensuu and Helsinki University of Technology.
Staff of the Conformal geometry project
- Tuomas Sorvali, Professor.
- Tuomas is the boss and takes care that people do their job.
When we have a problem, we go and ask him about it.
- Hannu Reijonen, Assistant.
- Pekka Smolander, Research amanuensis.
- Pekka is nowadays studying canonical embeddings on Riemann Surfaces.
Pekka takes care of running practical things here and Tuomas takes
care of worrying.
- Jarkko Lavinen,
Project researcher & sysadmin
- Jarkko is trying to keep Balrog and Galadriel running and studies
automatic structures.
- Ismo Soutamo
(University of Helsinki), mathematics student & sysadmin.
- Ismo is actually member of Riemann Surfaces project in Helsinki but
as he has an account and a homepage in balrog he is listed here.
Ismo is well on his way to Guru level in system administration and helps
keeping balrog as well as machines at Helsinki up and running.
Equipment of the Conformal geometry project
- Balrog
- RS/6000 model 220, 32M memory, 1G disk, 19" color display
- Galadriel - Xstation model 140, 8M memory, 17" color display
