Bulletin Board System

The NEIC now operates an electronic Bulletin Board System (BBS). It provides both the scientific community and the general public with information on Seismology and Geomagnetism. Users may leave or read messages and upload or download files. To acces the BBS system, a personal computer, modem, telephone, and communication software are needed.

The BBS number is (303) 273-8508. It is available 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Modem speeds from 300 baud to 2400 baud are accepted automatically. Modem and communications programs must be set for eight data bits, no parity, and one stop bit.

Users may log in as GUEST without a password or may become a registered member by entering NEW. The operation of the BBS is self explanatory. A users manual may be downloaded for additional off-line reference.
