Home Page for CU Computational Science and Engineering Resources

General

The Computational Science and Engineering Resource is an on-going project of several departments at Clemson. It is our goal to collect information on this new and exciting field. The Clemson view of computational science recognizes three basic divisions For a fuller description of our view of CSE, read the Clemson Program paper This paper appeared in the Communications of the ACM in December, 1994. An extensive write up of research issues is to be found in Manifesto. A paper proposing concepts in software engineering for Computational Science is also available.

More information about the Clemson CSE program also appears under D. E. Stevenson's home page. We are interested in academic programs as well as various industry applications. For both industry and academia, an important part of the development of CSE is materials development

Even though there is technically a difference (in our view) between computational science and engineering (CSE) and supercomputing, as a practical matter the two subjects are strongly linked. Therefore, we try to keep up with developments in supercomputing.
