Graduate education in Instrumental Sciences presents an interdisciplinary program in classical sciences and engineering. The program goal is to produce state of the art advances in high technology instrumentation via applied research. This research coupled with an appropriate academic program provides the core elements for the degree at the MS and PhD levels.Students leave with a sound understanding of the principles and concepts of measurement and control. The education and training received gives the student a "systems" approach to design, development, and implementation of measurement techniques and control processes.
The instrumental sciences program at UALR is the only PhD program of its kind in the United States, and the only doctoral program in physical sciences and technology in central Arkansas.
