Here in Eugene, amidst evergreen forests, scenic rivers, and more micro-brew pubs per capita than any city in the US (from my unofficial count), the Oregon Bach Festival each summer presents two weeks of concerts and events. International in scope, of the highest quality, and wide ranging in variety, the Festival produces choral orchestral masterworks, chamber concerts, guest artist performances, educational programs, and family and social events.

Each year, the Festival takes a thematic approach that weaves performances, discussions, lectures, and the humanities in a meld of music and meaning. The theme of our 1995 Festival is " War, Reconciliation, and Peace," commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Helmuth Rilling , musicians from around the world come to Eugene to create what I think is the only thing in the state of Oregon more breathtaking than the scenery!
