CURRENT SEISMICITY
These lists are provided by a variety of regional networks through
"finger" access to lists they maintain and update.
WARNING: THIS PAGE'S SUCCESS IS DEPENDENT ON THE XEROX PARC SERVER WHICH
HAS BEEN VERY OVERLOADED LATELY.
This page allows you to access the lists mentioned above, but also provides
an interactive map of the data by using the Xerox PARC map server. This
provides maps you can customize for the entire world. However these maps
do not have faults on them. For California and Hawaii you should also
look at the color plots below. Our thanks to Phil Abercrombie for the
software that does this.
Here we provide maps of the earthquakes in California and Hawaii.
These maps have more seismological information than those above
(e.g. faults) and show time by using color. But they aren't interactive
and do not cover the other networks.
On this machines home page the
weekly seismicity reports.
They aren't as current, but they have explanatory
text and cover the whole world.
The Hot News.
page is a repository for breaking news on earthquakes
in a freer format.
The U.S.G.S. has a lot of other information available, you can go
directly to either the
U.S.G.S. home page
or the
U.S.G.S. Earthquake page or to the beginning of this machines
earthquake info.
