Our first limited release was with the 1992 vintage. All aspects of production were scrutinized to ensure a Pinot Noir of exceptional quality. Each vine was hand selected and closely monitored throughout the growing season. Several times during the late summer, fruit was dropped in order to ensure that what was left on the vines would give BearBoat a firm, but delicate soft roundness. All the grapes were hand harvested into small picking baskets and later placed into French Limosine Oak Burgundy barrels for aging.
Having had been released for only several months, the response from Pinot Noir fans was tremendous.
We are now releasing in limited quantities the 1993 Bearboat Pinot Noir.
We believe the quality of the 1993 vintage to be as good if not better than the 1992 vintage. The wine is a bright cherry fruit with black pepper spice and a delicate oak charter, producing a Pinot Noir that is soft and round. The 1993 vintage BearBoat Pinot Noir is now available in limited quantities.
BearBoat also produces a non-vintage bottle of wine that went on sale February 6th.
