In the works...

High Speed Internet access is currently being designed for Campolindo High School and the Acalanes Union High School District. The network should be installed by the start of the '96 school year. The purpose of the network is as follows:

  • Provide students with high speed Internet access.
  • Allow administrative data to be passed between schools and district office.
  • Provide the backbone for future "Computers in the classrooms" plans.

Currently, the proposed system will consist of a dedicated T1 digital leased line at each school, including one located at the district office. Internet connectivity will be provided by Sprintlink or MCI backbone networks. For security purposes, administrative data will firewalled from the student network. Student database software will be updated to provide interconnectivity with the district office and other schools. Color student pictures will also be integrated in this new database.
