The goal of this page is to serve images of ski resorts around the world. This information could prove vital to ski enthusiasts, travelers, vacation planners, and those skiers who would rather be in their office on a hot summer day working in X-Windows with a nice crisp image of their favorite winter resort on the root window.

Most of the images are maintained in JPEG format for space considerations. My apologies for lossyness and quality deficiencies in the images. Usually they have been scanned from crumpled up ski maps that have been in the pocket of my jacket all day. Most ski resorts do not as yet provide machine-interpretable maps.

Please download images during hours outside of 8:00-18:00 EST (13:00-23:00 GMT for those on the other side of the pond and elsewhere).

Additions to the list are sought and welcome, as are improvements to the existing images. For information on how to add an image of your favorite resort send mail to regli@cs.umd.edu. We appreciate your patience, as this is a work in progress. Some of the images may not yet be available.

Skier's Responsibility Code:

I understand that there are inherent risks in the sport of skiing. These include, but are not limited to variations in snow, steepness and terrain, ice and icy conditions, moguls, rocks, trees and other forms of forest growth or debris (above or below the surface), bare spots, lift towers, utility lines, snowmaking equipment and component parts, and other forms of natural and man-made obstacles on and/or off designated trails, as well as collisions with equipment, obstacles, or other skiers, trail conditions vary constantly because of weather changes and skier use. I understand that all of the inherent risks of skiing present the risk of injury, that skiing is a dangerous sport, and that injuries can be serious and even fatal.
