The League of Conservation Voters is the bipartisan political arm of the environmental movement. Unlike any other environmental organization, our sole mission is to use politics to help win elections and protect the environment.
The United States Congress can strengthen (or weaken) environmental protection and determines the laws that protect our health, safety, and natural resources. It is essential to elect a pro-environment majority in both the House and Senate to ensure the future of environmental protection. It is our mission to work within electoral politics to change the balance of power.
Once elected, we hold Members of Congress accountable by publishing the National Environmental Scorecard after each Congressional session. For the past 25 years, the League has provided voters with a percentage score on how their federally elected officials are voting on the environment. We urge all voters to know the scores of their U.S. Representative and Senators, and to vote for the earth on Election Day.
