EFF & Aerosmith Rock the Net!

EFF Presents the Aerosmith World Tour of Cyberspace!

Did you meet and talk with the members of Aerosmith - Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer - live online, from Dec. 4 through Dec. 7, 1994, at Prodigy, CompuServe, America On-Line, or any of a number of Internet sites?

Aerosmith, America's premier rock band, has long supported freedom of expression and other civil liberties, and has become increasingly concerned with censorship in cyberspace. Aerosmith teamed up with the Electronic Frontier Foundation to host a series of online appearances to benefit the Foundation and help spread awareness of civil liberties issues in the online world. The historic Internet event, linking multiple Internet 'MOO' services, provided the world's largest virtual realtime conference in history, and was coordinated by SenseMedia, sponsors of ChibaMOO, and many volunteer MOO programmers and admins. Additional sponsors and helpers included many staffers at CompuServe, Prodigy, and America Online, as well as Giant Merchandising, Sonalyst Systems, Apple, MusicLand, Electronic Frontiers Australia, MCSNet, AlterNet, Cygnus Support, and the EMI, Columbia and Geffen recording & media companies.

The event was held by at least the following MOOs, linked in realtime: Albion, Arcadia/MOO2000, BayMOO, ChibaMOO, ChibaMOO - The Sprawl, DreaMOO, HyperMOO, Metaverse, Snow, tCD, Valhalla, WAXweb, and WorldMOO. Participation was also possible via WWW links, and a 2-way gateway to IRC.

We hope you joined us for the Aerosmith/EFF Virtual World Tour of Cyberspace!

Stay tuned for more events in the EFF Virtual Tour project!
