What is SIPA ?

Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association (SIPA) is a forum for expatriate Indians in the Silicon Valley to contribute towards cooperation between the USA and India and high technology areas. It is a non-profit voluntary organization based in Santa Clara, California.

Based in Northern California, SIPA membership of over 800 is concentrated primarily in that area. SIPA also has several members in Canada, India and Japan.

SIPA organizes periodic meetings to discuss current issues regarding the high technology and business environments in India. Entrepreneurs from Indian Companies, Indian Government officials, Representatives from US companies with operations in India are featured as speakers. SIPA communicates information provided by Indian companies and government, to its members on a regular basis. It publishes a newsletter, for its members, covering current issues. SIPA encourages focus groups. SIPA's manufacturing focus group brought out a white paper last year. From time to time, SIPA organizes useful workshops, seminars etc., for which active SIPA members get discounts.

As its name suggests, SIPA members are highly qualified engineers, corporate managers, legal and financial experts, businessmen and other professionals. Most of them are actively involved in high technology businesses and hail from almost every major company in the silicon valley. SIPA members have expertise covering all aspects of software, semiconductor and computer industry. All SIPA members share a common desire to promote Indo-U.S cooperation.

Membership

All SIPA services are available to anyone at no or very minimal cost. SIPA offers individual and corporate membership. Individual membership is available for $20.00 Corporate membership is available to any corporation for an annual fee of U.S $50.00. Mailing labels with current addresses of SIPA members is available for $175.00, to any SIPA member.

Activities

SIPA has periodic meetings to discuss current issues regarding high-technology and business environments in India.
SIPA encorages its members to form focus groups such as the Manufacturing Focus Group, Software Focus Group etc.
SIPA helps visiting businessmen and government officials to locate, evaluate, and meet with U.S businesses and or individuals in common interest.
SIPA holds meetings between its members and visiting Indian businessmen/government officials.
SIPA works with various other organizations in planning and executing meetings, seminars and trade shows for visiting Indian delegations.
SIPA helps Indians wishing to return to India in identifying suitable career opportunities.
SIPA publishes a Newsletter, SIPA News for its members, covering current issues.
SIPA communicates information provided by Indian companies and government, to its members on a regular basis.
