Having established ourselves as a successful digital design studio with a significant base of satisfied customers, the Electronic Pen now intends to become a leading provider of interactive marketing, advertising and design for the emerging information superhighway, including its present prototypes -- the Internet, the World Wide Web and other interactive online networks.
The Electronic Pen, Inc., was founded in 1985 by Sandy Dhuyvetter, whose vision was to provide high-quality marketing communications and graphic design services to the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The Electronic Pen has since developed marketing campaigns and corporate identities for dozens of clients in high technology, insurance, law, manufacturing, medicine, retail, small business and video production. Clients of the Electronic Pen include Pacific Gas & Electric, VISA International, Pacific Bell and Xerox Corporation.
In July 1994, the Electronic Pen formed the Webcats Media Services Division and registered the Internet domain name webcats.com. Its mission is to develop, design and produce interactive ads, brochures, data sheets, catalogs and other communications for placement on the Internet, the World Wide Web and other online networks. These communications include both business-to-business and business-to-consumer materials, as well as corporate identity "pages." Multimedia marketing materials created by the Electronic Pen's Webcats appear as full color pages on the World Wide Web, a worldwide hypermedia publishing medium. Pages are also accessible in text-only format for those who do not have graphical user interfaces to the Internet.
To complement the Webcats Division, the Electronic Pen consolidated its more traditional business services into the Collateral Services Division, also in July 1994. The Collateral Services Division continues to offer conventional marketing communications services and graphic design for a wide variety of printed media.
The Electronic Pen is a self-funded, privately held California corporation. As of October 25, 1994, the company has three full-time and six part-time employees, as well as relationships with a wide range of freelancers and vendors in the marketing, publishing and graphic arts industries.
