Graduate Research Assistant

The primary function of this position is to provide technical advice and support to NCSA's user community and to interact with other NCSA groups to improve the computing environment. This includes both consulting and documentation.

Research Programmer (Specializing as an Industrial Consultant)

The Center has one or more Research Programmer positions available contingent upon receipt of funding in the Industrial Programs Group.

The primary function of this position is supporting NCSA's Mission and three strategic priorities by assisting Caterpillar users with the use of NCSA facilities/services and by educating them on new high performance computing and communication technologies and developments. This position focuses on the use of these high performance computing resources on commercial/business application problems directed by Caterpillar. This position is the primary contact point between Caterpillar's business users and NCSA. This position is funded 100% by Caterpillar, Inc. through their Industrial Program contract with the University of Illinois.

Senior Research Programmer (Specializing as a Senior Software Development)

The Center has one or more Senior Research Programmer positions available contingent upon receipt of funding in the Software Development Group.

The Software Development Group (SDG) of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications develops software applications. The senior research programmer will design and develop 3D graphics and user interfaces for geometric modeling software as well as graphics applications for the virtual environment (CAVE).

Research Programmer (Specializing as an Industrial Consultant)

The Center has one or more Research Programmer positions available contingent upon receipt of funding in the Industrial Programs Group.

The primary function of this position is supporting NCSA's Mission and three strategic priorities by assisting Tribune users with the use of NCSA facilities/services and by educating them on new high performance computing and communication technologies and developments. This position focuses on the use of these high performance computing resources on information/multimedia and related application problems directed by Tribune's users and NCSA.
