Moe's Books

Hello,

Here is a little bit of information about our store, to let you know what we are up to on Internet.

Moe's Books is located in the heart of Berkeley, four blocks from the University and half a block from People's Park. We are primarily a used book store, one of the largest bookstores of this kind in the world, but we do carry new books and remainders as well (with all new books 10% off).

More Moe's, located on our fourth floor, is our art and antiquarian shop, specializing in photography, art monographs, Asian art, architecture, fine press books, rare children's books, books-on-books, and hard-to-find imported titles.

We are issuing specialized catalogs of out-of-print, new, and remaindered books, and will gladly take want lists and do booksearches for hard-to-find titles. We have a huge stock of recent and older titles and will search our store for anything you want.

We update our catalogs monthly and add new catalogs all the time. We have the following catalogs available via e-mail right now:

Many of our catalogs are available for browsing via World Wide Web here at the Internet Book Information Center. (Further information about the IBIC can be had from ibic@sunsite.unc.edu.) Serverspace for this page is provided courtesy of IBIC and SunSITE, a joint activity of Sun Microsystems and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The main focus of our store is used books, but with a half million used books in stock, we are never going to catalog everything. We will be offering special lists of books every so often, drawn from collections we acquire.

To help you take advantage of our vast used book stock, we are also offering a booksearch service. If there are things you are looking for, let us know. It doesn't have to be rare or out-of-print -- we get books in every day and might have some recent (but overly expensive) book you wanted, at a considerable discount. There is no fee for booksearches.

If we don't have what you are looking for, we'll keep you on file and keep searching.

Ordering from us is easy -- we take checks or charge cards and we ship by UPS when possible.

Our future plans include setting up "Virtual Moe's," a dedicated site that can be reached via telnet, where we will have our catalogs in an on-line searchable database. We hope to have it up and running by the end of August.

To ask about our inventory, send us a want list, get details on how to order books, or just to chat, you can contact us through Internet as moesbooks@delphi.com. We check our messages every day.

We would also be happy to put you on a mailing list for monthly updates of our available catalogs and special offers. (We will not put you on a mailing list unless you ask us to and we will make the messages concise.)

Any questions or comments would be appreciated. Like everything else involved with Internet, our plans are flexible and we're making the rules up as we go along....
