The HPCC (High Performance Computing and Communications) K-12 education program developed at NASA Langley is a pilot program which focuses on enhancing the science and mathematics curriculum by transferring NASA's computational technology to the primary and secondary education area. This includes Internet access for K-12 students and teachers.
Established in 1956, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) is the state agency charged with planning for all of Virginia higher education, cooordinating the state-supported colleges and universities, and fulfilling other responsibilities pertaining to Virginia's system of higher education. The council is both the coordinator of and the advocate for higher education in Virginia.
