Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN)

The Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) is an international initiative that serves scientific, policy-making, educational, and public access information needs regarding humans and the environment. CIESIN provides thematic guides to environmental information, searchable data from CIESIN archives, and links to other relevant Internet resources and organizations.

CIESIN's resource is available in two formats, through World Wide Web and as a Gopher. The University of Michigan is a member of the consortium. This service is provided by Richard Robinson, a staff member at CIESIN.
