CSLI was founded early in 1983 by researchers from Stanford University, SRI International, and Xerox PARC to further
research and development of integrated theories of language,
information, and computation. CSLI headquarters and the publication offices are located at the
Stanford site.

CSLI Publications reports new development
in the study of language, information, logic, and computation. CSLI
Publications publishes books, lecture notes, monographs, technical
reports, working papers, and conference proceedings. Our aim is to
make new results, ideas, and approaches available as quickly as
possible.
Preprints of some
reports are available online though not all are related to CSLI.
CSLI was established on the principle of fostering and encouraging
ties between the university and industry.
In order to maintain and expand these ties, CSLI has established an
Industrial Affiliates Program (IAP)
whereby companies with occupational interests in the work of CSLI have an
opportunity to draw on CSLI research and expertise.
