WARNING: Construction Zone!

The Keddem Web page is undergoing a significant overhaul. If you find a problem, please send me (Alan Marcum) email, and let me know what's wrong. The old version of our Web page is still available, if you need it, though it's now out-of-date.

As the saying goes, please forgive our dust, and the inconvenience.

Keddem Congregation is a Jewish congregation, affiliated with the Reconstructionist Movement, through the Federation of Reconstructionist Congregations and Havurot (FRCH). Our Congregation's founders were motivated by the style and spirit of services at Stanford Hillel.

The Keddem Congregation is based on four principles. We are: inclusive, egalitarian, participatory, and Reconstructionist.

We hold various events and services, typically at the Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Center, 655 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, +1-415-493-9400.

Any person over 13 years of age may apply for membership in Keddem Congregation. For additional membership information, please call us at +1-415-323-4796, send us email, or write to us.

In addition to information about Keddem Congregation, we also provide links to various other Judaic information available through the Web.

Announcements

It's Omer counting time!

Starting in May, we've been holding two sets of Shabbat evening services, the second and the last Fridays of each month. Our Friday evening services dates for June are the 9th and 30th; for July, the 14th and 28th.

It is a tradition to study all night on Shavuot, the holiday which celebrates the Revelation at Sinai. Keddem will host a late-night study session for Shavuot, Saturday, June 3rd, from 9 pm to midnight. For more information, see the description in the events page.

Our annual membership meeting is coming soon. See the description in the events page.

For additional information about the Keddem Congregation, please call +1-415-323-4796, or contact us with your questions by electronic mail.

As a community service, Keddem is providing this PostScript rendition of the 5755 calendar, with thanks to Dr. Zvi Har'El.

Dr. Har'El is at the Technion in Haifa, Israel; the sources for his programs -- luach, for printing a Hebrew lunar calendar, and taarich, for calculating the Hebrew date -- are available from the Technion. In addition, executable version of the programs are available, compiled quad-fat for NEXTSTEP.

In addition, David Skoll of Carleton University provides a Hebrew Date service, which includes a short list of upcoming holidays. (Carleton University is in Ottawa, Canada; note this for when the date changes.)
