It is our intention to construct a dynamic information server for South African Environmental Information. Our list of conferences and events is growing, so add yours now. If you have other suggestions, let us know.

Here are some links of interest to those interested in the diverse and dynamic field of the Environment.

If you are looking for a good point at which to start your search for environmental resources, try the ECOSYS at the University of Virginia. This contains many good links of general interest. One that we particularly like is the Integrated Earth Information Server that contains a range of earth-related data in a variety of forms.

For the Environmental Professional, link to one of the US Environmental Protection Agency bases:

the Centre for Exposure Assessment Modelling;
the main US EPA (Gopher) Menu;
the Air Division (logon required); and
the searchable Document and Publication Library (logon required).
Lastly, FEDWORLD provides a gateway to many other resources (Now in hypertext).

There is also useful information on environmental education and environmental law on the Internet.

You may also be interested in the services offered by the United Nations Environment Program and the efforts of the World Bank.

The ELECTRONIC GREEN JOURNAL is a professional refereed publication devoted to disseminating information concerning sources on international environmental topics including: assessment, conservation, development, disposal, education, hazards, pollution, resources, technology, and treatment.

You have been warned, though, this is LONG and it caused an old version of Mosaic to bomb (try turning the in-line image-loading off first). You should find it worth the trouble.
