Troubleshooting Maximum Comanche
If the following error message occurs, the CONFIG.SYS file on the hard drive contains a line referencing EMM386.EXE. This file conflicts with Comanche’s built in memory management.
SYS Error: Unable to Enter 32-bit mode, processor is in virtual 8086 mode. Most likely you are running an EMS emulator such as QEMM or 386MAX. Please read the manual for possible solutions. To alleviate this problem, edit the CONFIG.SYS file and remark out the line referencing EMM386.EXE by placing rem in front of the line. Exit the file and save the changes. Follow the instructions for playing the game. For further instructions on configuring the memory for Maximum Comanche, please read document #1941.
