The ground program is essentially a visualization aid; at startup, the program displays a graphics screen containing a map of the world and a number of input parameters. It allows, for example, display of the sub-orbital track of the satellite on the earth's surface. It also calculates and displays those points when the satellite is visible to at least one telemetry ground station; a line of sight is required for data and command transfer between the satellite and a ground telemetry station. The user specifies a list of available telemetry stations; the locations of selected telemetry stations and ground VLBI antennas are displayed.
