Packard Bell, Europe's and Worldwide Home PC market leader (source: Dataquest) opens up a whole new world of exciting computing for Home PC users with its revamped MultiMedia line. This line provides family users with more value for money. It facilitates ease-of-use even further, offers higher performance, advanced software and an improved Internet offer, at an astonishing price.

The new MultiMedia models cater to the demands of family users for high value configurations. Standard models come complete with a minimum of 32 MB memory up to 64 MB SDRAM with Intel Pentium 233 MHz processors with MMX technology (ranging up to latest Intel Pentium II 400 MHz processors with BX chipset). It also offers up to 8.2 GB of storage capacity and the choice between a 32X CD Rom drive or a DVD drive with a software MPEG-2 decoder. To enable users to get the most out of AGP games, most models also feature an ATI® Rage II+ or an ATI® Rage Pro graphic controller. Like other Packard Bell models, the new MultiMedia line comes complete with sophisticated monitor design integrating advanced speakers and innovative Pulsar chassis design.

This new MultiMedia line also offers users immediate access to exciting multimedia sensations thanks to a new comprehensive set of software titles ranging from productivity and culture to games. It features 30 to 40 titles including exclusive and unique full versions of the best selling games such as "MDK", "Swiv3D" or "POD Gold". Furthermore the most successful AGP arcade titles such as "Red Line Racer" or "Incoming" now come pre-installed.

These new models also offer quicker access to the Internet thanks to the latest version of Microsoft IE4 software with Active desktop. This enables users to navigate on their desktop applications in the same way as on the Internet. Furthermore, Packard Bell is the only PC manufacturer to ship ViaVoice from IBM, the latest continuous speech recognition software, throughout its entire lines, MultiMedia and Platinum.

With this new MultiMedia line, Packard Bell lives up to its commitment to provide Home PC users with the best value for money plus easy and affordable access to the most exciting multimedia experiences.
