We are also excited to be able to exhibit six early paintings, dating from 1989, by Pablo Cesar Amaringo, the Peruvian shaman and founder of the Usko-Ayar Amazonian School of Painting. These pieces are in addition to the seven paintings we recently put on-line, and unlike the latter, these are all available for immediate delivery. As you may recall, the other seven are all in the inaugural exhibit of the American Visionary Museum in Baltimore, Maryland which opened November 24, 1995. Although they also are available for sale, they will not be available for delivery until the museum exhibit concludes in October, 1996.
Please visit our new exhibit of oil paintings by Adrian Wong Shue in the Journeys Wing. These large oils have a tremendous visual impact, and are in addition to our collection of Wong Shue's gouache, acrylics, and limited edition serigraphs.
The Gallery welcomes a new artist, Lenore Hotchkiss, who lives on her own mountain in Colorado. Her watercolors exhibited here, dramatic in impact with rich colors and vibrant designs, are inspired by the designs and colors of her unique environment.
We have added some additional Haitian Voodoo flags, a unique art medium with a central role in voudou ceremonies. See these flags in our Haitian Art Wing.
In November we introduced Robert Roberg. Roberg, an "apocalyptic folk artist," experienced a spiritual search that took many twists and turns before it found expression in the art that he creates today. In the words of Chuck Rosenack, co-author of the Museum of American Folk Art Encyclopedia of Twentieth-Century Folk Art and Artists, "This is a very rare and unusual talent...Robert Roberg is an important new discovery" in modern folk art. Another quote, by critic Robert Hicks in Art and Antiques magazine: "Roberg is on the brink of national celebrity." We could not agree more. Please view the first twelve works of what soon will be several more on exhibit by this fantastic artist in our Folk Art Wing.
Look at our newest wing - "Abstract Realism" - featuring limited edition lithographs and original paintings by the famous Louisiana artist Rolland Golden. Golden has had more than 100 one-man shows in the United States and Europe, and his works are in the permanent collections of literally dozens of prestigious museums. The Electric Gallery is proud to present 39 wonderful pieces by this great artist.
Not just fruits and vegetables - HEROIC Fruits and Vegetables! You have to look at James Tormey's fascinating paintings newly on exhibit in our "Contemporary Art Wing" to appreciate what we mean. In addition to Tormey's lush and startling images, we have just added a series of mixed media compositions by the dynamic new artist Mick Tarel in this wing. As you know, this wing also contains superb original paintings and limited edition serigraphs by a number of dynamic young artists with roots in the United States, Russia, and Persia. These artists represent some of the outstanding talent in contemporary art.
