A Preview Release update has been released! Update 1 improves support for various video cards, Appletalk printing, and IDE drives. This update is free, and only updates the Preview Release (not the older Advanced Access Preview Release).

The BeOS User's Guide was updated recently; the version available on-line is the same one that's on the Preview Release CD.

Be In the News received an infusion of new appearances of Be in the press. Know any we're missing? Send in a URL (or print reference) to webmaster@be.com.

The FAQs in the Support Section have been tuned recently to reflect the status of the Preview Release. They're great for learning that extra tidbit about Be and the BeOS.

A list of available Preview Release BeWare is now generated nightly; this replaces (and is a superset of) the list of AA:PR BeWare previously generated.

The Be Book for Preview Release received another update: the Storage Kit was updated and now the Interface Kit has the new function index.

It's out! The BeOS Preview Release is now available! You can even order it on-line. And yes, the ordering servers are getting seriously swamped....

A new press release describes how the Preview Release will also be bundled with several magazines around the world.

The BeOS Now! page was revamped to reflect the new ways of obtaining the BeOS. (Other pages on the site were modified in minor ways for this too)

The Masters Awards were updated to reflect the fact that applications can run under the Advanced Access Preview Release, not just the final Preview Release. Enter soon; you just might win a dual-CPU computer....

The Be Book for Preview Release has received another update. The version on the web site is now the same as the version included with the (upcoming) Preview Release CD. An archive of the entire Be Book is also available from the FTP site.

Believe it or don't, developers can now pick their own passwords by modifying their contact information in the Registered Developer Area.

The FAQs in the Support section have recently been updated.

New BeWare pages have been created which summarize available BeWare and available Advanced Access BeWare. The lists are updated nightly and are designed to allow easy linking to the full BeWare descriptions or immediate downloading.

A new section on PPP troubleshooting in the Advanced Access release was posted; this contains a wealth of information for folks who are having trouble connecting via PPP in the early release.

Added three new positions to the Jobs at Be page: 3D Graphic Engineer, Graphic Driver Engineer, and General Graphic Engineer.

Six new Be User Groups were added in the Be User Groups area. The new BUGs are located in China, England, Idaho, Florida, North Dakota, and Russia.

Added info on the upcoming Be DemoTour trips to Los Angeles, Detroit (MacHack), and Montreal.
