The Human-Languages Page

The Human-Languages Page

This page is devoted to bringing together information about the languages of the world. The language resources listed here come from all around the world, and range from dictionaries to language tutorials to spoken samples of languages. Many languages are represented here, but many more are missing. If you have something you would like to contribute, please send mail to Tyler Jones, tjones@willamette.edu.

Old translating dictionaries wanted!

If you have an old, out-of-copyright or copyright-free translating dictionary (English/French, English/Italian, etc), then a project exists that wants it. The objective is to collect copyright-free texts and produce free online translating dictionaries for the Net and elsewhere. If you can help, you can contact me, or you can get more information about the project. This is something I personally would very much like to see happen, so please at least check it out.

If you are having trouble seeing the entire page, try this one

Some individuals, myself included, have had the occurance where only part of the page is downloaded and displayed, no matter how many times you hit reload. It seems to be Netscape-specific, and may have something to do with our new HTTP server. I don't know if the above link will help, but it's worth a shot.

At the moment, this page is geared towards English-speakers only (because these introductions, and the explanations of the links below, are all in English). Volunteers are needed to translate this page into other languages. Please send me mail if you would like to help with this.
