The World Sex Guide
Dedicated to the honorable Senator Jim Exon
This is the World Sex Guide, a collection of prostitution
related information about many countries in the world. Many articles
were originally posted to the usenet newsgroups alt.sex.prostitution
and have subsequently been archived here.
Every prostitution
related resource on the internet should be accessible from here.
If you feel offended by
stuff like this, just don't read on.
There are no pictures, graphics, sounds or jave applets on this
site. We don't need it, because we have information instead.
The usenet
newsgroup alt.sex.prostitution is devoted to discussions concerning
prostitution, as the name suggests. Hookers and their customers hang
out there. One aim of the group is to
create market transparency for sex related services. To achieve this,
people post reports about their experiences with certain service
providers, and others ask for more information. We, the FAQ
maintainers, try to save all valuable postings and incorporate them in
this document. Read more about alt.sex.prostitution in the Welcome Message.
Most prices are given in local currency; use the Exchange Rate
Server to convert.
We included excerpts from many articles posted to usenet. The
From: lines and the signatures have been deleted. If you send
something in and you specifically want your (maybe anonymous) email
address mentioned, please say so. If one of your
articles was used and you want us to
remove it, contact us.
- Please provide us with information so as to make this FAQ more
complete. Either post it to alt.sex.prostitution or
send it directly
to us. Many thanks to all who have contributed! Keep it
coming! :-)
- Check out the Paranoia
homepage and thank them for donating this space on their server.
- Please help check the data given here and report the results.
- If you see this guide mentioned in the media, please let us
know. So far, we've made it all the way to the Edinburgh
Evening News, Scotland. Also, the UK magazine Computer Life
listed us in
their WWW booklet in January 1996. And the Nation, a Bangkok English
newspaper, hilariously reported that the Thai government has complained to the Internet authorities about this site.
- If you find any broken links, let us know.
- Another good idea is to urge your news administrator to carry
alt.sex.prostitution if they don't already do so.
- And, above all, lobby your legislators for complete legalization of
prostitution everywhere! Don't vote for moral minority and censorship freaks!

CIA World Factbook, containing detailed non-sexual information
about all countries in the world.

- To send mail or post to usenet anonymously, send mail to
help@anon.penet.fi. Note that the anon server treats
everything following "--" as a signature and deletes it; I often
get corrupted e-mail because of that. Also, don't use the
"attach" function of your mail program if you want to send
something through the anon server.
A more secure and advanced but slightly more difficult to use service is available by sending mail to
remailer@soda.berkeley.edu with Subject:
remailer-info
. This server even allows you to read
alt.sex.prostitution if you don't have access to usenet.
- To read alt.sex.prostitution via email send a
message to computer@rushroom.com with
the text "help" in the body. Please do this only after having asked
your newsadmin about the group.
